Roaming Charges - How We Can Help

You may have heard on the news that mobile phone networks are beginning to withdraw the automatic right to use your inclusive minutes or data when roaming abroad in Europe (and beyond). Vodafone, EE and Three have all introduced significant changes to how you are charged for using your phone when roaming abroad.  In some cases, this means you are charged a daily ‘access fee’ to get access to your inclusive calls, texts or data.  In other cases, you may not be able to get access to your inclusive calls, texts or data and you may be charged significant ‘roaming charges’ to make AND receive calls while roaming abroad.

If you are on the Vodafone network through Northern Telecom and you intend to use your mobile abroad, please contact us in advance and we will be able to ensure that you are on the best tariff for the country(ies) that you are travelling to.

Please note that customers connected to O2 through Northern Telecom are still able to access their unlimited calls, texts and data in the EU, meaning that you can still make and receive ‘in bundle’ calls, texts or data usage entirely free of charge.  O2 has not indicated any intention of charging for roaming to the EU in the same way as the other networks, so at the moment O2 through Northern Telecom remains the most cost effective way of roaming abroad in the EU.
